Atlanta reporter Emilie Ikeda said goodbye to Fox 5 News with a bitter-sweet farewell. She was very pumped about having time off to spend time with her friends and family, especially her fiancé. Just a month after her departure, Ikeda announced that she’s joining NBC News. Did she leave FOX 5 for her new job at NBC NEWS?

Emilie Ikeda signed off of Fox 5 Atlanta after 3 and a half years

Emilie joined Fox 5 News as a multimedia reporter in November 2017. She worked in this position for 1 year and 6 months. In 2019, she started to work as a multimedia journalist/news reporter for the station. 

Emilie’s last day at FOX News station was on March 29. She left the station with an overwhelming feeling of gratitude. She shared a video on her Facebook chatting about her journey with another reporter of FOX 5, Katlyn Pratt.

She mentioned that she was going to spend some time just outside Philadelphia where her family and financé are. 

In the video, She did not reveal much about her next job but she did say that she will be staying in a journalism career.

When will Emilie Ikeda start at NBC NEWS?

After a month of leaving for FOX 5, Emilie is set to work at her new job at NBC as a correspondent. In her new workplace, she will be reporting across NBC News and MSNBC platforms starting from July 12.

Emilie announced the news on both Facebook and Instagram.

“So many words come to mind in sharing this announcement, but for the sake of simplicity and your time (because I was fully prepared to write a novel of a caption), here’s one: Grateful,” she wrote.

In late June 2021, Emilie shared a heart-warming post of her and her fiancé. “Smiles fueled by: 2.5 months off of work, several weeks exploring national parks, sunrise in the Smokies, mama/baby bear sightings, 8 months of engagement, and the best hype woman ever,” she wrote in the caption.

She has not gone public about her partner’s information. All we know right now is that her fiancé's name is Patrick.
